Centre for Montessori Training - Chennai was established in 1998 to propagate the Montessori philosophy and method.

Our primary aim is to make relevant and appropriate education available to every child in Chennai and Tamil Nadu, if the world. Towards this, we train adults in this method to help fill the lacunae for trained people in existing schools as well as to help establish more such schools here in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

Montessori defined education as assistance to life and this means that learning is not bound within the four walls of the classroom. It means that parents and family are the primary educators of the child especially in the formative years and they continue to play an important and valuable role in their ‘education’ in the later years.

So we at Centre for Montessori Training – Chennai, feel it is important that we do not limit our work to influencing what happens within the classroom. It is necessary to share and spread our knowledge and understanding of the nature and needs of the child with parents as well all adults who are a vital part of the children’s world and therefore a possible influence in their lives.
