CMT-C alumni started schools in Chennai, Erode and other areas
CMT-C partnered NGOs such as SNEHA in Nagapattinam, and SOS Village in Tambaram in bringing Montessori education to rural schools for disadvantaged children.

Kalvi, in partnership with the Sri Ramacharan Trust, and the Corporation of Chennai has begun several Montessori environments in schools in Mylapore and Saidapet. Alumni of CMT-C have also started Montessori environments in schools in Thousand LightsLights, and Chetpet.

CMT-C partnered with Positive Parenting with the objective of supporting parents today in 2004. Using Maria Montessori's scientific discoveries of the child, CMT-C worked with parents to help them understand better the nature and needs of children.

Kalvi and its partners have also begun a large-scale programme to equip Balwadis with Montessori materials and teachers, so that children begin to benefit from this method from their earliest years.
Parijath, Kalvi’s classroom in the Cancer Institute, Chennai, is a path-breaking effort to create an oasis of learning and enjoyment for children undergoing long-term treatment for cancer.
2001 DTERT (Department of Teacher Education, Research and Training)

Education and training of the teacher trainers of the DIETs and government school teachers with the Montessori Method of teaching as its basis. The ABL Method introduced by the Government of Tamil Nadu for all its schools has its origins in these training modules that we conducted

The valedictory function for the XX batch of Centre for Montessori Training-Chennai (CMT-C) consisting of 29 of the teachers of the Corporation of Chennai (COC) and 9 of the private students was conducted at the "Independence Golden Jubilee Hall", Ripon Building on Tuesday, 28 February 2012 between 05:30 and 06:30 p.m.
CMT-C has conducted the course entirely in Tamil for the teachers of the Chennai Schools, COC.
The pilot project was conducted for 6 teachers in the year 2007-08.
The next course was conducted in the year 2008-09 where 69 teachers of the COC underwent the training.
The last batch of training was conducted in the year 2010-11, where 29 teachers attended the course.
The chief guest for the function was The Worshipful Mayor, Thiru. Saidai.Sa. Duraisamy. The other dignitaries were Joint Commissioner of Education, Thiru T. N. Venkatesh, I.A.S., Educational Councilor, Thiru. Maghizhanban and the sponsor of the course Mr. N. S. Udayakumar, President of Rotary Club of Madras East.
Mr. G. Shanker, Founder Trustee of Kalvi Trust for Research and Education addressed the gathering and shared the work of Kalvi Trust.
Mrs. Uma Shanker, Managing Trustee of Kalvi Trust and Director of CMT-C spoke about the Montessori Training programme.
Mr. Udayakumar (President of Rotary Club of Madras East) expressed his delight to be able to support the Corporation financially in their noble cause of providing training of teachers.
Mr. T. N. Venkatesh, I.A.S., Joint Commissioner of Education stated that Chennai Corporation is the first city in India to have offered such an extensive programme in the Montessori Method. He also announced that our Honourable Mayor has offered Montessori materials for 30 Chennai schools.
Thiru.SaidaiSa. Duraisamy, Mayor of Chennai Corporation appreciated the work of Kalvi Trust towards the training and felt that Kalvi must further support these teachers to supervise their work in their practice of implementing the Montessori Method.
He then awarded the diplomas for the teachers who had successfully passed the course.
